Bailey Rester

Graduate Teaching Assistant
MSSGC Graduate Fellow

I am a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the University of Southern Mississippi and earning my PhD in Computational Science with an emphasis in mathematics.

I am a NASA Mississippi Space Grant Consortium (MSSGC) Graduate Fellow for the 2021-2022 academic year.

For my master’s thesis, I performed a stability analysis of Krylov Subspace Spectral (KSS) methods applied to the variable-coefficient wave equation. You can download my thesis here.

My current research for my doctoral dissertation is to create a multistep version of KSS methods as well as to generalize KSS methods to the case of time-dependent coefficients representing media with both spatial and temporal heterogeneity.
